Liam loves to make playdough jewelry!

He always makes sure to make something for Daddy and for Mommy, too!

Aaron did say that he's always wanted his own playdough slap bracelet!

Laptop Ha-coop-ter

Liam's new favorite thing is to turn a book on its side and open it up like a laptop. Aaron and I both have laptops, so he sees us do this pretty often. He'll open his book up and say "I'm workin' on the ha-coop-ter, Mama!"

Shoes and Scarf

Liam put his own shoes on all by himself today! He put them on the wrong feet at first, but then put them on again with only direction on which to put on each foot. I was so proud of him!

We borrowed a book from the library about The Lion King. Liam likes to watch the movie at Grandma and Grandpa's house, so he was excited to read the book. We read it once this morning and I realized that he was calling Simba's Uncle Scar, "Uncle Scarf"! It was hilarious and I of course kept asking him to say it again!

"Scarf is a meeeaaan guy!" he'd tell us! Such a cutie.

The Fishing Newt

Liam was playing with his toy fishing set this morning, putting the fish in the net, setting "Grandpa Howie" in the boat, etc. I heard him say something about the "fish in the newt" as I was getting ready.

"What did you say, buddy?"

"The fish is in the newt!"

"You mean the NET?"

"Oh...the NET."

And then he would very quietly say "NEWT" to himself. If I was watching him he'd say "the fishing net," but then he'd glance at me to be sure I wasn't looking before saying "fishing NEWT" quietly.

My kid is hilarious.

Monkeys and God

Liam is wearing his orange striped monkey shirt today.

He studied the front of it as I put it over his head and he said "Oh, that's a BIIIIIIIIG monkey!"

I agreed and he said "Where are the monkeys?"

I told him I didn't know. Were they at the zoo or in the jungle?

"They're FAAAAAAAR away!" he said. "They're up with God!"

HAHAHAHAHA.

Cinderella

Liam's new favorite book of the week is Cinderella. It's really long, so we usually improvise on the words, but he doesn't seem to care. He asked to take it along in the car with us on our morning commute today, so he read it all the way into town. He kept saying "Cinderella WIKES me! Cinderella WIKES me, Mommy!" It was very cute.

It always amazes me how unafraid Liam is of grownups. He can talk to kids and adults relatively easily, and isn't very shy at all. He was telling me about stepping on something as we walked into daycare today. His friend Lily's dad was coming out the door, so Liam included him in the conversation, too! "I stepped on that FING!" he told him. "Oh my gosh!" said Lily's dad!

I left work early yesterday and picked Liam up after his lunch. I had called ahead, and when I got there his teacher said that Liam didn't believe her that I was coming early! He said "No, Miss Danielle, Mommy comes AFTER NAP!" She kept trying to tell him that I was coming early that day and he said "Silly Miss Danielle! Mommy comes AFTER NAP!" He was so confused as to why I was there so early! I told him that today I will come and get him after his nap, so he was happy with that. I said "Did Mommy come to get you at a different time yesterday?" and he said "Yeah, AFTER WUNCH! Silly!"
