There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children, one is roots; the other, wings.

A Note from Liam
Aaron's cousin Kassie passed away last week after a long struggle with heart problems. Her funeral was yesterday and we brought the boys along for the service. They were pretty good and asked some good questions about funerals and death. Liam was very curious about the burial and convinced Aaron to take him even though we hadn't planned on going! This morning Liam came into our room and had a card he had made for Aaron while trying to fall asleep last night! It had a picture of Kassie inside and he had written "This is Casee." On the front he wrote (with NO help) "Deer Dad I now you mas Casee bot dot wooree uool bee wath hoor soon. From Liam"

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
We are more than halfway through the crazy week! All have survived so far. Max is having a very hard time adjusting to daycare. He likes it there, but he hates being away from us and his big brother. Liam has been super excited about daycare from the start, but today he actually started crying in his classroom because he missed his little brother!! They sent him down to the little kids' room until lunch so these best buddies could be together for a little while! So adorable. I love that they love eachother so much! Max did actually nap at daycare though so I hope that means he's getting more used to the routine at least.
I am loving training even though I am seriously ready for bed at 7pm every night! We have been listening to taped 911 calls to prepare for frantic callers and difficult situations. They are hard to hear, but make me want to be prepared to handle them.
Weekend...come quickly! I need sleeeeeeeep!

Crazy Week - Day 1
This week promises to be quite busy for us, so Aaron and I spent most of yesterday preparing for the days ahead. I work every day from 5:45am-2pm and need to be up by 4:30am. Aaron has to get the kids to daycare for 6:30am and then drive to Algoma for 7am. We picked out clothes for the week, packed backpacks, made lunches, chose mom and dad clothes, made lots of lists, etc. to prep for today's early morning. Thankfully, it went off without a hitch! I was early to work even after letting Ellie out to go potty (minor miracle!) and Aaron had the boys to daycare right on time!
Max was a little nervous about staying in his daycare room, but he didn't cry! Liam thinks daycare is "awesome!" and immediately began playing with his friend (and 4k classmate) Carson! He rode in the daycare van to school at noon and then took the bus home this afternoon. This schedule is pretty crazy for the boys as well, but I'm grateful that they will have the summer at home with Aaron.
I picked Max up at 2pm right at the end of his nap. He was lying flat on his back on his little sleep mat with his pacifier (I couldn't send him to daycare without it...I think I'm more attached to the idea of it than he is) and his stuffed puppy. It was adorable. But, you could tell that he was upset and he clung to me when I came in. He was just tired and couldn't sleep in a new place just yet. I think he will get used to it before too long. Even so, he said he's excited to go back tomorrow so that is a good sign!
Ellie made it through the day in a quite sizable pen in the living room. She peed on her pee pad appropriately and hadn't escaped or shredded anything when we finally got home. Max has been saying "I missed you so much, Ellie!" and "Sweet dog!" while hugging her all night long. So cute.
My job is going very well and I just started computer training this week. I love it so far and can't wait to get out on the floor (even though I'm a little bit nervous). I have a great trainer and learned a lot in just one day. I hope it continues to go well.
Just an update on us! Hope your week has started out well!

Eleanor
Yesterday was the first day Ellie had no accidents in the house! Hoooray! I started giving her liver treats every time she goes outside, and now she waits by the door when she has to go! She'll go outside, go potty and then immediately look at me to ask for her treat! Aaron says she's going to weigh 80 lbs. soon! The boys continue to love playing with her and snuggling with her. She's also earned quite a few nicknames already: "Ellie-phant", "Ellie Bellie", "Jelly Bellie", "Ellie Bellie Stuck in the Jelly" and my favorite, "Diagon Ellie".
