The sassters and I spent the weekend in Milwaukee bonding and having fun!
We took a tour of the Pabst Mansion on Saturday that was amazing. Will definitely be going back there.
The mansion has been well taken care of, and so much work has been done to preserve it. It was a fascinating story for history lovers like us! We want to take my mom and Aaron there some day, too.
Sassters!
Today, I left Milwaukee bright and early in the morning and drove to Johnson Creek for the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival. I had signed up for a class about angora rabbits and harvesting and spinning their wool. The instructor breeds angoras, and I will purchase one from her next year. My favorite part of the class was the shearing demonstration, and after she finished she did a drawing for the fiber. I won! So now I have to teach myself how to spin and get this bag of angora wool made into yarn! It was an awesome class that really covered a lot and gave me some insight into this next phase of my hobby farm!
The chicks are almost ready to move into their coop...and then we'll be on to construction on the rabbitry over the winter! A baby angora will arrive sometime next spring! Can't wait!
