I would have to say that one of the happiest days of my life was the day that I met Aaron. We were getting very nervous to meet after having some great conversations at a distance. We met at a graduation party, and were both SO nervous in the days leading up to that day. I remember practically barfing as I waited for the party to start and for Aaron to arrive. Part of me just knew that I was going to meet someone amazing that day...and when I did finally meet him, I knew I was right. There are no pictures from that first meeting, but here's a little drawing to help you visualize:
August 6th, 2005 - the day we got married. After all the stress and planning, I was strangely calm that day. Almost too calm...I didn't cry once! I thought I would lose it as I walked down the aisle, but Aaron did instead! I was just so happy that everything went well and that everyone was happy and excited for us. It was so great to be surrounded by all of our friends and family and just feel so lucky. I won't ever forget the sun shining through those stained glass windows as we said our vows, and my best friend Kelsey singing "The Lord's Prayer" for us as we lit our unity candle. It was just such a perfect combination of all that we are together.
I couldn't have anticipated how wonderful it would feel to see Aaron as a daddy for the first time. This is one of my most favorite pictures of him holding Liam just after birth. It was an overwhelming feeling to see this little baby in his strong daddy's arms. I still can't help but feel thankful, and so lucky, when I see the two of them together.
