There's nothing like a nasty case of the flu to put you in your place! This week has been so difficult for me. The funeral on Monday, a crabby boy on Tuesday, and the flu yesterday. I'm just finally starting to emerge from the fog.
I woke up at 2am Wednesday and commenced vomiting and other bouts of intestinal difficulties about every 20 minutes for the rest of the day. I couldn't eat, and was worried about Baby Max being affected by all the illness. I called my doctor who reassured me that the baby would be fine (even if I couldn't eat anything) as long as I stayed hydrated. So, I raced to the store in between bouts of nausea and bought stock in Gatorade and popscicles. I was miserable all day, so of course the day went by SUUUUUUUUUPER SLOOOOOOWLY.
Liam and Aaron got home later that afternoon, and my sweet boys took such good care of me. Liam sat in the bed with me and told me about his day (he got a sticker at daycare for being the only one to listen when his teacher asked the class to do something) and put stickers all over my hand to make me feel better "because you feel yucky, Mama." Awwww. What a sweet pea. Aaron did dishes, laundry, cleaned, brought me stuff, took care of Liam, checked on me, put Liam to bed, kissed my head, and was just the perfect man in general. He even insisted on sleeping on the couch so I could have our whole bed to myself! Although, I don't think I'd want to sleep with a sweaty, barfing woman either.
I'm feeling one thousand times better today, but I'm also humbled by how helpless I felt when I got sick! I'm lucky to have such a great family to help me when I need them. I guess I'm not superwoman afterall.
