Cottonwoods

The cottonwoods have sent their fluffy seeds into freefall and the air is filled with them.

The boys and I played in the sprinkler after daycare today and Liam spent a lot of time just looking up at the sky. Finally, he said, "Mom, what are those white things?" I explained about the cottonwoods and how the seeds float in the air until they settle to the earth.

"Oh," he said, "I thought they were pieces of cloud..."

I like his explanation much better...
