I walked into the college yesterday just wondering if this was the right choice for me and kind of lost in thought. I rounded the corner by the admissions desk and ran straight into Cindy Reinl, my former boss when I worked at the Bellin library! I took that as a good sign. She showed me around the library and gave me a mini tour since I was still early for my 3:30 appointment. It was great to talk with her, and I just had a very calm feeling after that. The meeting went well, and I am happy with the plan for the next year and a half. I love the history of the school and really look forward to being a part of their program. My grandma still gets together with her nursing school classmates 40+ years after graduation. I like to think I'll do the same thing.
I will be taking 2 or 3 classes a semester and one summer class to get all my prerequesites finished. This will allow me to work my regular hours at St. Anne's and to keep our family on mostly the same schedule as always. Aaron won't be teaching after school studies this year, so he will be able to pick the boys up from daycare on nights when I have class. Ron and Meg have offered their help as well, so I really feel confident that things will go smoothly. I'm enrolled for Anatomy & Physiology on Mondays and Tuesdays this fall, as well as Intro to Psych (online) and Econ on Thursdays (September-October). It's a little busier than I'd hoped to be, but I think I'll be ok.
The new campus is really nice and I'm hoping to take Aaron on a tour once they get settled in (the faculty and staff just moved in last week!). I just got a feeling after walking through the doors. This is where I'm supposed to be.
Congratulations! Glad to hear you're making it happen!
